West Coast Prime vs. Midwest Prime Geno Carcone was an absolute star in Friday’s quarter-final. He came to life when his team needed a star and showed how much he could dominate play when the going gets tough. Carcone not only scored the game-winning goal with 2 seconds left, he also scored a shorthanded goal that tied the game at 3. His speed and ability to attack lanes, driving directly towards the net, was terrific all game long. He was fearless in how he bolted through defenders and was proficient at getting the puck to the low-slot. Carcone constantly created chances and, when Midwest needed him most, he showed terrific clutch.

Our feature player in the contest for the visitors Geno Carcone had himself a really strong performance and was a huge reason as to why his team came away with a tie on Sunday. Tallying one goal and three assists in just 16:30 of ice time, his faceoff work in this game directly led to two goals late in the game to knot things up. Geno played with pace as he usually does, driving at the defense and forcing them to backpedal and give him space to work. He didn’t play as flashy as we have seen in the past, this game was all about being efficient and smart with the puck and he made intelligent passes and low risk plays that gave them the best chance for success. His ability to change up the pace of play caused problems for the defense and allowed him to play on his terms and control the puck.

Northeast Pack Hockey 15O Showcase - November 19-21, 2022
Another week goes by and another solid string of performances for Geno Carcone has come and gone. Carcone once again was the primary driver of offense on this talented BK team as his work ethic heavily outweighed that of anyone else’s during their games. He controlled the puck very well and kept his head up as he scanned for passing options and circled the zone confidently until they appeared. He had an assist that really caught my eye as he fought tremendously hard in the corner for the puck and as he came away with the puck he went down and a defender came in to scoop up the puck, but Carcone got back up and fought him off to continue around the net where he dished it out in front for his teammate to tap in. He was flying with the puck and he made defenders dive in and miss and he accelerated into the empty space to put him in a position to shoot or pass it off. He has immense talent but resiliency may be his greatest weapon.
