Game Information
2022 USA Hockey Select 17s - Black vs Gold
Noah Powell has the requisite tools to have an impact on the game at any variety of it’s stages. He’s an energetic player who can build speed very quickly and thus he’s able to provide energy both in transition as well as the offensive zone. He has a dangerously long reach that he uses well as an offensive tool to extend the puck from his body and create drastic movement of the puck in a split second. He is able to handle the puck very well in awkward body positions and tends to handle contact quite well.

Game Information
2022 USA Hockey Select 17s - Black vs Grey
Following up a rush along with his line-mates, Noah Powell was able to capitalize on a rebound that he collected quickly on his backhand. Getting his team within one goal at a score of 2-1, Powell showed an ability to quickly process and react with essentially zero time to settle the puck and make a clean play. Often overlooked, the ability of a player to simply make contact with the puck in situations like this is a goal-scoring technique that will translate to higher levels about as well as any other. One of the greatest things about Noah Powell’s game is that while he certainly has well developed puck skill, he usually just takes the path of least resistance to success. He makes the simple plays and utilizes the tools and skills that are required to get there, but doesn’t waste his energy with otherwise inefficient fluff. That’s not to say that he can’t put up a highlight-reel goal either. His strike mid-way into the 2nd period which finally got his team on the board was a particularly impressive play which involved stripping the puck from an unsuspecting defenseman as he set up at the blueline and making a couple of lengthy strides towards the net before cutting to the outside and slipping it around the goaltenders backside.2
