Day 3: 2021 USA Hockey Select 16 Camp - The Tri-City tendered forward was a powerful force in this win for Team Gold. Adams’ ability to beat his opponents with a number of tools makes his game quite reminiscent of a player like James Van Reimsdyk. He’s extremely protective of the puck, both in open ice and along the boards, and is able to drive momentum through his opponents, rather than having to go wide around them. One peculiar characteristic of the way that Adams is able to create offense is in the fact that he seems to provide pressure from the rear, rather than leading. This isn’t at all a knock on his style of play either. Rather, Adam’s ability to see the ice and coordinate transitions is something that undoubtedly benefits from his style, which brought positive results for Team Gold in this game.

Day 5: 2021 USA Hockey Select 16 Camp - Not having missed a beat since our assessment of him earlier in the tournament, Tanner Adams once again began this contest with exceptional pace and power. His combination of functional strength and the effectiveness in which he applies it makes him a dominant force in the offensive zone. His powerful and timely execution of cross-seam passes are acutely deceptive, but also serve to blow up his opponents defensive back pressure by challenging their positions and structure.

Tanner Adams is going to be a real deal power forward. Plays heavy with fantastic boots and at the same time is one of the best player makers at the birth year. He sees every lane and every pass. Knows the ice incredibly well and knows where his linemates are going to be. Very impressive player because he has hands, size, speed and can see the ice. He had a chance to play with two finesse players, Logan Renkowski and Ryan Fine, this summer so we saw Adams do the dirty work like first in on the forcheck where he would get the puck to Renkowski and Fine with speed. Adams is a virtual lock for the NTDP because he can play up and down the lineup. He will dominate Mount St. Charles U15 team with his long time teammate and friend Michael Hagens.
